Hello!

My name is Cynthia and the idea for Seva Ranch was mine (via God). I am an entrepreneurial electronic / computer engineer and caterer, turned web and graphic designer / internet marketer.

My knowledge of the reality of sex-trafficking, primarily child sex-trafficking, was very limited until I saw an interview with Jaco Booyens of Share Together on American Thought Leaders in June of 2020. What I learned that day was beyond impactful and it drove me to learn more. Over the next year my knowledge grew immensely by watching countless interviews, documentaries and reading articles. After every new expansion of information, I was troubled by the same 3 questions posed on the home page, but primarily: what happens to the children who do not have loving and functional families waiting for them?

I have been unable to fully answer these questions. I do know that a number of facilities / homes for child survivors exist around the world, but they lack the size and probably the funding/resources to really make a dent or serve long-term needs – which is what most of these kids require. This is not to say that any effort to shelter, protect and further the survival of these children, no matter how small or short termed, is of any lesser value than what we are trying to do with Seva Ranch. Any effort is of immense value; however, these kids need a safe place to grow up while they rehabilitate.

Then, in late April 2021, I saw a monologue video made by a survivor who was doing what she could to help other survivors in her own simple way. In that video, I learned of numerous, very subtle considerations that need to be taken into account when interacting with these children – they were the most seemingly innocuous things; things that would never even remotely cross the mind of anyone who has not been one of these victims. In addition, some terrifying aspects to this criminal culture were confirmed by that survivor and it left me with a driving need to do something about this glaring hole in the child rescue process …..and the vision of Seva Ranch was born.

The final product of the vision presented here could wind up being remarkably different from this initial vision. We are moving into unchartered territory, breaking new ground, and we are willing to bend and grow as needed to meet our goal. Whatever the ranch concept winds up looking like, as long as the mission is being gracefully and morally achieved, then it will be a success.

Lastly, on the subject of bending and growing, we will be adopting elevated expectations of ourselves and others. I believe this is necessary for the ranch to be successful – otherwise, we’ll end up with another “institution” that is more of the same, that creates bureaucrats and that falls far short of truly and effectively helping mankind, or worse.

No more business as usual or we’ve always done it this way. These attitudes have played a big role in allowing the world to get where it is today. We will be expecting people to be the best versions of themselves – a concept that is more and more foreign as mankind progresses – and we want to bring it back through kind continuous encouragement and impeccable examples.

It is my belief that one gets back what they send out – whether it’s effort, attitude, expectation or love - and that anything, and I mean anything, is possible with the right mindset. We want to create a new culture of mindfulness, gratitude, inspiration and service…. for these children, for ourselves and for each other. And I believe there are numerous people around the world who are ready to help, they just need to be asked.

With kindest regards…
Cynthia-
